Two Kansas City men, siblings, have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting Tuesday night of Quindell Burrell in a city park in the Ruskin area of south Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

Terry L. Williams, dob: 4/7/1991, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Attempted Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm*, while Tyree L. Williams, 8/3/1999, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Attempted distruction of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance.*

According to court records, shortly after 8 p.m. on June 30, 2020, Kansas City police, responding to the scene, found the deceased victim near Ruskin Way park. A witness told police that she had gone with the victim to a park at 113th Terrace and Ruskin Way to meet Terry and Tyree Williams for a drug transaction. Surveillance video corroborated the four of them arriving at the park. The witness stated the witness drove off, leaving the victim at the park. When the witness returned, the victim had been fatally shot. Video showed the victim approach the vehicles of the two siblings and Terry Williams, after getting out of the vehicle, extends his arm in a shooting posture. After the shooting, the Williams brothers attempted to elude police in a high-speed and dangerous chase that ended near 109th and Hickman Mills Drive.

Prosecutors requested a bond of $300,000 cash-only for each defendant.
