Thomas Midgette, dob 9/12/1962, was sentenced today in Jackson County Circuit Court for the murder of Raymond C. Jones, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced.
On November 19, 2018, the Defendant appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court and pleaded guilty to the Murder in the 2nd Degree - A Felony, Armed Criminal Action - Unclassified Felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm - D Felony. Today, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kelsey Blackwell argued for the State the proposed sentence of the following:
As to Count I, Murder in the 2nd Degree - Life imprisonment
As to Count II, Armed Criminal Action - 30 years in the Missouri Department of Adult Institutions
As to Count III, Unlawful Use of a Weapon - 7 years in the Missouri Department of Adult Institutions
Jackson County Circuit Judge S. Margene Burnett ruled after argument today and sentenced the Defendant to Life Imprisonment, 30 years, and 7 years in the Missouri Department of Adult Institutions, as argued by the State.
All sentences are to run concurrently with one another.
