A Lee's Summit man multiple felony charges, including Driving While Intoxicated -- Death To Another Person, in connection with a weekend vehicular crash at 350 Highway and Raytown Road, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced tonight.
Jonathan Michael Marquardt, dob: 3/21/1991, faces DWI -- Death to Another Person (Class B felony), DWI -- Physical Injury To Another Person, Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
According to court documents filed tonight, Raytown police responded to a reported hit and run on 350 Highway at Raytown Road, where a victim told them a dark colored Dodge truck, traveling at a high rate of speed, had struck the victim's broken-down vehicle, in the rear. The crash injured a pregnant woman sitting in the disabled vehicle. Police spotted the truck matching the description of the suspect vehicle. Police took the truck's driver, identified at Jonathan Marquardt, to the scene of the crash on 350 Highway where he was identified as the driver of the truck that struck the broken-down vehicle. Field sobriety tests were conducted and Marquardt was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The pregnant woman was taken to Children's Mercy Hospital, where it was determined she suffered injuries in the vehicular crash that resulted in the baby's death.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $200,000.
