Four teenagers, including twin brothers, have been charged in a Monday robbery of a pizza restaurant in south Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Ellwyn T. Brown, dob: 6/26/1999; Ellshaun C. Brown, dob: 6/26/1999; Bryan C. Byers, 2/23/1999; and Adrian D. Stallings, dob: 9/13/1998 each face Robbery 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Stealing a Motor Vehicle.*
According to court records, Kansas City police responded Monday evening on a reported robbery of the Pizza Hut in the 9500 block of Blue Ridge Blvd in Kansas City. Witnesses stated four males fled from the business. A victim stated they used force and a black rifle to break glass to gain entry. Then at least one jumped the front counter and ordered victims to empty pockets and a tip jar. One victim told police he dropped his keys and his vehicle was taken from the parking lot. A little later, police responded to Research Medical Center on a reported gunshot victim. Stallings told police he shot himself in the hand and that he jumped over the counter at Pizza Hut and took cash. He also stated the vehicle that was taken from Pizza Hut was used to take him to the hospital. The Browns stated they participated in the robbery and car theft. The four defendants were identified in surveillance photos from the restaurant.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $75,000 for each defendant.
