A homeless Kansas City man has been charged in KC stabbing on Tuesday near 9th and Prospect that threatened life of victim, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Sonny R. Scott, dob: 6/16/1977, faces Assault 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, police responded to the area of 9th and Prospect on a reported stabbing. The victim, emergency responders told police, had life threatening injuries. Video footage of the incident from a business showed a suspect, later identified by witnesses, repeatedly stabbing the victim for several minutes and taking his billfold before the suspect flees on foot. Scott was later apprehended in an unoccupied building on Truman Road. He had blood on his clothing.
Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 bond.
