A Jackson County judge has sentenced Clarisa Baldwin to 23 years in prison for the murder in September 2016 of George Hamilton, dob: 7/29/1976.
Baldwin, dob: 12/19/1980, pleaded guilty in March to Murder 2nd Degree. The sentencing was done on Thursday.
According to court records, on Sept. 12, 2016, Kansas City police were dispatched on a reported cutting. They found the victim on the sidewalk at the end of a driveway in the 27-- block of E. 35th Street in Kansas City. He was pronounced dead later at an area hospital. Witnesses told police of persons arguing outside the residence and one stabbing the other with a large knife. A witness identified the defendant as the suspect in the stabbing. The next day, wehn the defendant was taken into custody, she was wearing blody clothes.
Assistant Jackson County Prosecutors Mary Beth Lundak and Sarah Castle prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
