A Kansas City man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the August 2016 fatal car wreck near 115th and Holmes that took the life of Gary Dramshek, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Gabriel B. Cornelius, dob: 6/15/1977, faces Involuntary Manslaughter 1st Degree.*
According to court records, police responded to the scene at 115th and Holmes Road. The defendant was uninjured. An accident investigation determined the defendant's vehicle and the victim's vehicle were driving southbound on Holmes. The victim was attempting to make a left turn at 115th, when the defendant steered into his path, traveling at an excessive speed, and struck the victim's vehicle in the left door. The defendant was under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the collision. The victim died as a result of injuries from the collision.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $100,000/10 percent.
