A second teenager has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting this week of Matthew J. Haylock who was found after he was shot in the parking lot of Independence Center, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Luis Ramirez, dob: 11/30/2000, of Kansas City faces Murder 2nd Degree Felony Murder and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court documents filed today, Ramirez was charge in the murder of Haylock because he and a co-defendant were attempting to rob the victim when he was fatally shot. Ramirez told police Thursday that he and the co-defendant conspired to commit a robbery and take the victim's Glock 9 mm.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000 cash.
