Thanks to help from Kansas police, a man arrested Saturday was charged this weekend with 2nd Degree Murder in connection with the July 21 fatal shooting in KC of Anthony Clark, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Eric H. Womack, dob: 12/13/1986, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Anthony Clark was found shot to death in a vehicle near Independence Avenue and Lawndale on July 21, 2017. Later, Kansas police detectives informed Kansas City police detectives that an indivicual provided information related to the murder, implicating Womack as the suspect. Womack and at leaast one other person came to Kansas City to buy drugs, according ot the witness. A second witness told another Kansas law enforcement agency that Womack stated he had killed a man at a car wash in Kansas City. Womack stated he intended to rob the victim. But he shot the victim after he grabbed the woman who accompanied Womack. A third witness told police detectives that she saw Womack shoot the victim, then flee on foot.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000 cash.
