A 23-year-old Kansas City man has been charged with sex and other crimes including the Jan. 9, 2021, rape of an Independence woman after recently meeting her on the Internet, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Jamen L. Jackson, dob: 10/15/1997, faces Rape 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and three counts of Possession of Child Pornography 1st Offense.*
According to court records, on Jan. 10, 2021, Independence police responded to an Independence residence where the victim reported she met the defendant for a first time the day before. She reported she had met the defendant on the Internet and had invited him to her residence. She stated she had no intention of having sexual contact. Soon after he arrived, she told police that he pulled out a handgun, pointed it at her head and ordered her to perform oral sex on him. While she did so, he recorded her with his phone. When the defendant was arrested, his phone was searched which produced multiple videos of the defendant engaged in sexual acts with the victim. Other similar style images of sexual contact with unknown women were located on the phone. The search also revealed dozens of images of child pornography.
The Independence Police Department continues to investigate.
Prosecutors requested a $50,000 cash bond.
