An Independence, MO, man has been charged in Thursday's fatal shooting of Abigail Edwards in Independence, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Tristen W. Bishop, dob: 6/30/1996, of Independence, MO faces Unalwful Use of a Weapon, a Class A felony punishable by up to life in prison.
According to court records, Bishop told police he and another man fired pistols into a residence on S. Oxford Avenue on April 19, when the victim was struck by gunfire.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000 cash. The shooting remains under investigation to consider whether other charges may be filed.
