An Independence man has been sentenced to four consecutive 20 year terms for child sex abuse of a boy just 10 at the time, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Michael S. McNurlin, dob: 5/24/1964, was sentenced Thursday by a Jackson County judge to 20 years for each of four convictions of Statutory Sodomy 1st Degree or Attempted Statutory Sodomy. The state requested that the sentences be set to run consecutively, citing the defendants prior sexual abuse of a young boy.
A Jackson County jury convicted McNurlin of the four child-sex abuse counts on July 25, 2017.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Erin Hunt prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
