A Jackson County judge today sentenced Anton L. Hunter, 21, to 25 years in a Missouri prison for the fatal shooting in 2017 of an 18-year-old Isabell Addison, at a traffic signal at Blue Parkway and Cleveland, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
In August, Hunter, dob: 7/21/1998, pleaded guilty to Murder 2nd Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and the misdemeanor count of Failure to Report a Shooting. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors will seek up to 25 years in prison for those convictions.
A judge today sentenced Hunter to 25 years on the Murder conviction, 10 years on the Unlawful Use of a weapon, 3 years on each ACA And 1 year on the misdemeanor. The judge set all sentences to run concurrently.
According to court records, on April 30, 2017, Kansas City police were dispatched to the area of Swope Parkway and Benton on a reported shooting. A witness to the shooting told police that the defendant was a passenger in a vehicle that pulled up beside the victim's car and fired shots.
