A 28-year-old Kansas City man faces multiple felony counts in connection with the shooting of three persons in the street in the area of 56th and Bellefontaine, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Darcell J. Clark, dob: 8/13/1991, faces two counts Assault 1st Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, three counts of Armed Criminal Action and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.*
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to the area of 56th and Bellefontaine on reported gunshots on Thursday evening, Jan. 23, 2020. They located two gunshot victims at the scene and later learned of a third one at a hospital. Two victims told police they were standing by a car when the defendant walked up and shot at the victims. A witness said the defendant walked up to the victims, shot them and walked back into his residence. The defendant told police someone fired into his home, hitting the third victim who was taken to the hospital.
Prosecutors requested a $50,000 cash bond.
