A Kansas City man, 28, faces multiple felony charges in connection with the fatal shooting of Evelyn M. Frazier and the wounding of another victim on Nov. 26, 2019, in the area of 31st and Cypress Avenue in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Jonathan D. Campbell, dob: 2/25/1991, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree and three counts of Armed Criminal Action.
According to court documents, police were dispatched to the 3000 block of Cypress Avenue on a shooting. They found a male victim suffering from gunshots to the face and a deceased victim inside a residence. Police found spent 9mm shells and live rounds at the scene. Witnesses identified the defendant as the shooter. Detectives were provided with information that the shell casings found at the homicide scene and a shell casing collected from the robbery scene were fired by the same firearm.
Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond.
