A Jackson County judge late Thursday sentenced Antoine L. Ellis to two life without parole sentences for his convictions in a sex case that involved a 13-year-old victim, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
In March, a Jackson County jury convicted Ellis, dob: 7/28/1986, of two counts of Statutory Rape 1st Degree and one count of Child Enticement. On Thursday, a Jackson County judge sentenced Ellis to life without parole on the first Statutory Rape conviction and added a second life without parole sentence for the second Statutory Rape conviction. Those sentences were set to run consecutively. In addition, the judge set a third sentence of 15 years to run concurrent to the two life without parole sentences.
According to court records, family members of the victim reported to police sexual text messages between the 13-year-old victim and the defendant. Some of those messages referred to a two-year sexual relationship.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Faiza Alhambra, Erin Schleipman and Danielle Sediqzad prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
