A Jackson County jury late today convicted a second defendant, Omar T Muhammad, in Dec. 2013 fatal shooting of Eric Harrell, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury convicted Muhammad, dob: 1/28/1992, of Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action and receiving Stolen Property.
Muhammad will be sentenced at a later date.
In April, co-defendant Monique Ransom was convicted of Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action in the murder of Harrell.
According to the probable cause, Ransom went to Harrell’s home in Kansas City with her brother Muhammad and her boyfriend. While the boyfriend was outside the home, Ransom and Muhammad reportedly got into an argument with Harrell during an attempted robbery and the victim was shot him multiple times, killing him.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Theresa Crayon, Sarah Castle and Ben Cox prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
