Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker will hold a press conference at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (March 28, 2018) to announce the launch of a new effort in Jackson County.
Caring for Crime Survivors, initiated by the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, will place a special emphasis on gun violence victims. The program is intended to help the survivors of crime and possibly build better relations between law enforcement, the criminal justice system and the victims of crime.
Partners in the new program, Caring for Crime Survivors, include the Ad Hoc Group Against Crime and Jackson County Combat. Baker and representatives of those agencies as well as victim advocates will attend the press announcement in the lobby of the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, 11th floor of the Jackson County Courthouse, 415 E. 12th Street in Downtown Kansas City.
