The search for a new director of Jackson County COMBAT has begun with a job posting and the announcement of a new partnership with a University of Missouri-Kansas City nonprofit leadership center, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

The Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership at UMKC's Henry W. Bloch School of Management has agreed to facilitate the process for selection of the new director, the prosecutor's office announced today. Later, a committee of community leaders will be announced to interview and select finalists.
Jackson County COMBAT strives to build a strong, safe community and reduce the dangers of illegal drugs and violent crime. First approved in 1989, the 1/4-cent COMBAT sales tax generates more than $20 million in annual revenues that are spent on a variety of county services and programs aimed at illegal drugs and reducing violent crime.
