A Kansas City woman, 24, faces felony murder charge in multiple fatality vehicular wreck, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Victoria M. Brown, dob: 11/25/1993, faces three counts of Murder 2nd Degree and one count of Resisting a Lawful Stop.
According to court records, Independence Police Department officers observed the suspect vehicle, a Jeep, near 23rd and Hardy in Independence. The driver of the Jeep declined to stop and officers followed. At times the Jeep fled at high speed. Police, near 23rd and Television Place in Kansas City, found the Jeep had collided with a Dodge Avenger with four passengers. Two persons from the Dodge died as a result of the collision. One passenger in the Jeep also died as a result of injuries from the collision.
Since filing of this complaint, a fourth person has died so additional charges may be filed.
Prosecutors requested a bond $250,000 cash.
