Two 26-year-old Kansas City men have been charged in connection with the robbery early this morning of a Grandview gas station, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Brandon Jones Webster (dob: 6/12/1989) faces Robbery in the 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action; Diyante Dickens (12/22/1989) faces Robbery in the 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Resisting Arrest.*
According to court records, employees at the gas station on U.S. 71 Highway identified the suspect's vehicle after a man wearing a grey hoodie came into the store and pulled a handgun and demanded money. The suspect left the business and was picked up by a gold Ford Explorer driven by another person. Police identified the vehicle and followed it and attempted to stop it, but it fled exceeding 80 mph until it reached Blue Ridge Blvd. It eventually spun out of control and struck a concrete barrier and light pole. Jones Webster was hurt in the collision.
Prosecutor requested a $150,000 bond on each defendant.
