A 46-year-old Lee's Summit man has been charged with assaulting a neighbor, stabbing him at least twice, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Leon W. Dawson, dob: 10/16/1969, faces Assault in the 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Dawson arrived home to the 1000 block of SE Talonia Drive in Lee's Summit, Mo. He and a neighbor got into a verbal argument. The victim pushed the defendant and Dawson struck the victim in the mid section and upper torso. The victim yelled to a neighbor: "You saw that ... he stabbed me." The victim suffered an 8-9-inch puncture wound in the left groin area and 2-inch puncture wound under the left arm pit.
Prosecutors have requested $100,000 cash.
