A Jackson County jury late today convicted Damon Kerr in the Nov. 35, 2018, fatal shooting of Donna McKeown, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury convicted Damon Kerr, dob 7/12/1975, of Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action. A Jackson County judge will sentence Kerr on May 6, 2022.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded on Nov. 25, 2018, to the 3400 block of East 54th Street on a reported shooting. Officers found the victim in the front seat of a Dodge Avenger. She had been shot in the neck. She was later declared deceased at the hospital. The victim was mother of three children of the defendant, who initially denied shooting the victim.
Assistant Jackson County Prosecutors Theresa Crayon, Danielle Sediqzad and Andrea Herron prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
