A Colorado man faces a felony charge of rape in connection with a reported rape in a dorm room at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Juan D. Contreras, dob: 3/8/1994, faces Rape in the First Degree.*
According to court records, video from security cameras showed the suspect carrying the victim into her building early on Friday. She appeared to be passed out. The suspect admitted to having sex with her even though she was highly intoxicated. Witnesses told police she appeared mostly asleep. When the victim woke up and asked what happened, the suspect told her they had sex and she became very angry, accused him of raping her and began to strike him.
Prosecutors requested a $100,000 bond.
