Two Kansas City teenagers, ages 17 and 18, have been charged in the fatal shootings on Dec. 8 on Kansas City's east side that claimed the lives of Jonathan Echols and Freddie Jones, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Tyren Lamar, dob: 4/30/1999, faces two counts of Murder 1st Degree, one count of Robbery 1st Degree and three counts of Armed Criminal Action, while Seth S. Reed, dob: 1/27/1998, faces two counts of Murder 2nd Degree, Robbery 1st Degree and three counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
Kansas City police, responding to the 3900 block of Chestnut, on Dec. 8 found the bodies of Echols and Jones, both shot fatally multiple times. Witnesses said the defendants had gone there to rob the victims, who let them into the residence.
Prosecutors requested bonds of $300,000 for Reed and $500,000 for Lamar.
