A 41-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the July 5 fatal shooting of Alvino Crawford, 29, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today. Jerome B. Walker Jr., dob: 6/26/1975, faces charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action.* According to court records, a witness told police that she and others had been with the victim and the defendant. The witness walked to President Gardens apartment with the defendant and met the victim in front of 8247 Forest. The defendant told them to leave. As they were leaving, he pulled out a gun and several shots were fired. Later the defendant admitted to shooting into the apartment to scare a woman inside. Crawford was killed by being shot when the defendant fired into the apartment. Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000 cash.
