Two KC men have been charged in the fatal shooting of Andre D. Tolan, who was found shot to death outside apartments in the area of 76th and Monroe, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Malik Sherman, dob: 3/13/1996, and Micheal Sherman, dob 6/11/1992, each face Murder 2nd Degree, Kidnapping 2nd Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, police were dispatched to 76th and Monroe on a reported shooting. Police found the victim-- Tolan, dob: 12/3/1997 -- deceased from gunshot wounds. Three suspects were taken into custody. Both Shermans, who are brothers, told police they were in a vehicle with the victim and drove to an area on 68th Street for a drug transaction. They left that area, they said, after they saw a man with a gun. One said the man may have fired a shot at them. They drove back to the apartments at 76th and Monroe with the victim. Both brothers stated they fired weapons at the victim after he got of the car They believed he was involved in setting them up for the potential robbery at 68th Street.
Prosecutors requested bonds of $300,000 cash.
