Local students and a Country Club Plaza business have joined to help the family of Alexis Kane, the 14-year-old who was murdered in 2015 in south Kansas City. They are raising funds to support the family, which has struggled since the murder.
Students of Pembroke Hill have organized a fund-raising event for Thursday, April 27, 3 to 6 p.m. at t.Loft on the Plaza, 200 W. 47th Street. The local business has generously agreed to donate 20 percent of its sales during those hours. In addition, the students will be selling flower stems for a donation. All proceeds from the Thursday event will go to the family of Alexis Kane.
