A Jackson County jury on Tuesday has convicted Ramon D. Boyd of multiple felonies in connection with the fatal shooting of Sederick J. Jones, 23, early in the morning on the first day of 2016 in south Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Boyd, dob: 8/28/1986, was found guilty of Voluntary Manslaughter, Assault 2nd Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action and Leaving the Scene of a Shooting. Boyd will be sentenced at a future date.
A co-defendant in this case has already been sentenced to prison.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Jeannette Wolpink and Ryan Neely prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
