A Kansas City man, 39, has been charged in the fatal shooting yesterday, Jan. 19, 2023, inside a residence in south Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Donald E. Crowe, dob: 1/20/1984, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, the victim called Kansas City police dispatch and reported that he had been shot eight times by the defendnat, who left the scene on foot. He described his clothing. Officers arrived and found the victim on the front porch of the residence in the 7600 block of E. 108th Terrace. The victim again reported to officers he had been shot by the defendant eight times before the defendant left. The victim died later. The defendant denied knowing about the shooting. But he could not explain to police officers where he had been for nearly an hour after the victim called police. He told police he had only been gone 15-20 minutes.
