A 38-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the Aug. 30 fatal shooting of Andrew Dickie in the 4900 block of Paseo in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Darryl Price, dob: 8/16/1982, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to the 4900 block of Paseo the evening of Aug. 30, 2020 and found the victim, Andrew Dickie, dob: 7/22/1985, deceased in the garage from apparent gunshot wounds. Shotspotter recordings from the area captured the sounds of two different firearms fired simultaneously. Surveillance video helped police identify the defendant as a passenger in the a vehicle captured at the scene of the fatal shooting. The video showed the defendant exiting the vehicle with a long gun pointed at the garage where the victim was found. Then the defendant runs back to the vehicle, which reverses direction outside the driveway and drives north in the southbound lane of Paseo. Other suspects are observed on the video. The defendant had just a few days earlier posted a photo on social media showing him in the same shirt he was wearing at the time of the homicide. The defendant told police he was at the scene but another suspect shot the victim and he only pointed his rifle toward the garage.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000.
This case remains under investigation.
