A Jackson County jury has convicted Tymon Reed, 21, of the Sept. 19, 2016, fatal shooting of 16-year-old Javon Reilly as he walked home from his Independence high school, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Reed was convicted Thursday of Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action. A judge will sentence Reed on March 2, 2018.
Jackson County Assistant Prosecutors Traci Stansell and Hallie Williams prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
