A Kansas City man, 29, has been charged in the fatal shooting of Robert D. Williams at a KC Chiefs' game gathering Sunday near 43rd and Tracy in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Sharron R. Garner, dob: 11/30/1990, faces Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records filed today, Kansas City patrol officers were dispatched Sunday afternoon to the 4200 block of Tracy Avenue in Kansas City on a reported shooting. They found the deceased victim, Robert D. Williams, inside an upstairs apartment. Witnesses idnetifed the supsect as Sharron Garner, who they said was wearing a Chiefs jersey at the time of the shooting. He and the victim had been in the residence to watch the Cheifs game earlier. Witnesses said the defendant left the apartment for a few minutes and returned. Without saying anything, he shot the victim, unloading an full magazine before fleeing. Spent shell casings were found in the residence.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $350,000 cash.
