A 54-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the assaults of two Kansas City police officers responding to help another victim last Thursday, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
John K. Ross, dob 4/12/1962, faces two counts of Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer in the 2nd Degree and Assault in the 3rd Degree.*
According to court records, the officers were responding to seeing a woman being struck while she was walking in the area of 11th and Prospect Avenue. Ross hit and and head-butted the woman.. When the officers responded, Ross hit each officer and bit one on the right hand. One officer suffered a concussion.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $35,000.
