A Jackson County jury late today convicted Brad Lindsey, 37, of Murder 1st Degree and other felony counts in connection with the 2016 fatal shooting of D'Adrian Bell, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury convicted Lindsey of Murder 1st Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Lindsey will be sentenced at a later date.
According to court records, police responded to the 7200 block of Olive on May 15, 2016 and the found the victim inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. Witnesses told police they saw Lindsey shoot the victim or they saw him struggling with the victim when shots were fired. The two had been arguing. Lindsey later tossed his weapon off the Broadway Bridge and into the Missouri River.
Assistant Jackson County Prosecutors Kristiane Bryant and Jeannette Wolpink prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
