A Jackson County jury on Friday convicted Terrance Blanks, in the Aug. 24, 2016, fatal shooting of Rocky Bradley in the parking lot of a Kansas City convenience store, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury convicted Blanks, dob: 3/13/1986, of Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action. The jury. in deliberations this evening, recommended 20 years on the murder conviction and 10 years on the Armed Criminal Action conviction. A judge will sentence Blanks on March 30.
According to court documents, Bradley and Blanks had a confrontation inside the gas station. Surveillance video showed Bradley exiting the store first. A witness told police she saw Bradley get into his truck and grab a handgun from his vehicle. The witness said Blanks exited the business with a handgun and shot at Bradley as he sat in his truck. Bradley got out of the vehicle, the two exchanged gunfire, and Blanks ran to his car and fled the scene.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Kristiane Bryant and Crispin Rea prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
