An Independence man, 37, has been charged in the fatal shooting of Ales Carr on June 20, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Ryan Gillispie, dob: 1/29/1984, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Acton charges.*
According to court records, Independence Police Department officers were dispatched on June 20, 202, to Centerpoint Hospital after a gunshot victim, Ales Carr, was dropped off at the emergency room door. The deceased victim had been shot in the head. Video from an Independence residence on North Agnes showed the defendant with a towel wrapped around his neck. The same towel was found with the victim when she was dropped at Centerpoint. Further investigation by Independence police determined the defendant was the shooter.
Prosecutors requested a $300,000 bond.
