A Kansas City man, 23, has been charged in a fatal Independence, MO, shooting on Saturday of James P. Robertson, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Jordan Huff, 10/18/1998, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Independence Police were dispatched to the 3900 block of S. Redwood Drive on a reported shooting. A woman met officers and told them a man had been shot in the residence. Three children were inside but unharmed. Emergency response crews determined the victim, Robertson, was deceased. He was found inside the residence. A witness told police that the defendant and victim were playing cards with others when the defendant shot the victim. Another witness stated the defendant stopped others frmo calling 911. A Ring doorbell camera showed the defendant leaving the apartment and a gun barrel muzzle is evident. .
Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond.
