A Grandview, MO, man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting Saturday in the south Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Terrance D. Wright, dob: 8/28/1995, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Kansas City Police officers were dispatched to the 7900 block of East 117th Street in Kansas City on a reported shooting on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019. A witness at the scene told police that the defendant had been in a dispute with residents where the shooting occurred. The dispute was over a child they have in common. A witness told police that she heard honking and looked out and saw the defendant in his vehicle. Her husband, the victim, told her he was going out to talk to Wright. When the witness went outside she saw the victim on the ground and the defendant in his vehicle with a gun. The defendant was taken into custody by police at the scene. A gun was recovered there.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000
