A Jackson County judge has sentenced a Kansas City woman, 27, to 20 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to four counts of Murder 2nd Degree for causing a fatal vehicular crash in 2018 that killed four persons, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Victoria M. Brown, dob: 11/25/1993, was sentenced Thursday to four 20-year prison sentences, set to run concurrently.
According to court records, Independence Police Department officers observed the suspect vehicle, a Jeep, near 23rd and Hardy in Independence. The driver of the Jeep declined to stop and officers followed. At times the Jeep fled at high speed. Near 23rd and Television Place in Kansas City, police found the Jeep had collided with a Dodge Avenger with four passengers. Three persons from the Dodge died as a result of the collision. One passenger in the Jeep also died as a result of injuries from the collision.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Michael Hunt prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
