Dairian Stanley, 22, was sentenced Thursday to life without parole, plus life in prison, for the Sept. 25, 2016 fatal shooting of Torrence Evans in the 5600 block of Hardesty Avenue, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury convicted Stanley, dob:11/25/1995, of Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action on in January after a week-long trial. Stanley was acquitted of kidnapping.
According to court documents, Stanley confronted his former girlfriend, assaulted her and threatened to kill her after he learned that she had a relationship with Evans.
Jackson County Assistant Prosecutors Ashleigh Ragner and Christopher Accurso prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
