A 28-year-old Independence man has been charged in the fatal shooting earlier this week of Angela Green inside an Independence residence, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Nathan L. Ayers, dob: 2/23/1990, faces Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Independence police, dispatched to the 10500 block of E. 10th Street in Independence found the victim deaceased in the living room. She has been shot, and the Medical Examiner determined the gun shot was the cause of her death. The homeowner stated that the defendant had been living at the residence. A witness told police that the defendant confronted the victim and shot her. He also stated that the defendant gave him a gun to hide after the fatal shooting.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $500,000 cash.
