A 20-year-old man faces robbery, assault and other felony charges in connection with the shooting Monday of a south Kansas City man inside his residence, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Mustafa R. Ali, dob: 7/28/1996, faces Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, the defendant entered the victim's residence and began to take a number of the victim's personal possessions. When the victim confronted him, the defendant pistol whipped and shot the victim in the face.
The case remains under investigation.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $200,000.
