A Jackson County jury today found Danzel Reese guilty on two felony criminal charges in connection with the 2010 fatal shooting of Lance W. Rutter during a robbery in the 3800 block of Baltimore in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury found Danzel A. Reese, dob: 2/16/1992, guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter and Robbery in the 1st Degree.
Witnesses told police, according to court records, that the victim was sitting on his front porch when a suspect pointed a gun and demanded money. One man handed his wallet and ran away. The victim argued and the suspect shot him.
Reese will be sentenced on Oct. 16, 2019.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Jamie Hunt and Caitlin Brock prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
