A Jackson County jury has convicted Travone Shaw, 20, of Murder in the 2nd Degree and Robbery in connection with the Oct. 31, 2014 fatal shooting of Dionte R. Greene, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury found Shaw guilty of Felony Murder or Murder in the 2nd Degree, Robbery 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.
Greene, 22, was found in the 690 block of Bellefontaine in the driver's seat of a running vehicle. He had been shot. Shaw and another defendant were charged in the robbery and shooting. The other defendant is scheduled for trial in June.
Jurors finding Shaw guilty on Thursday recommended today that he be sentenced to 5 and 7 years on the Murder 2nd Degree and Robbery 1st Degree and 17 years on the Armed Criminal Action convictions.
A judge will sentence Shaw on June 29, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
