Jeffrey Moreland, a former police officer in Grandview who already has been sentenced in Cass County to life without parole for a murder conviction, pleaded guilty Friday to two counts related to the Oct. 29, 2010 murder of Nina Whitley, who was found deceased in her south Kansas City home, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Moreland was sentenced to 20 years for Murder 2nd Degree and 10 years on Armed Criminal Action.
Moreland is already serving a sentence of life without parole for his conviction in Cass County for the murder of Cara Jo Roberts, who was killed in her Harrisonville home in November 2008. DNA evidence connected Moreland to both murders.
