A 36-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Georgia Petsch, 38, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Brandon J. Petsch, dob: 6/1/1983, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court documents filed this weekend, Kansas City police were dispatched to the 300 block of West 98th Street to check the welfare of a resident. They were met at the residence by the calling party who said his son and daughter-in-law were not responding to calls. Once inside the home, KCPD officers found blood throughout the residence along with Brandon J. Petsch, who was unresponsive on a bed and transported to a local hospital. The deceased victim was found in a separate bedroom, her body rolled inside of an area rug. After a search warrant was executed on the residence, two firearms and a note were found by investigators. The note stated the author and the victim had been arguing and he had fired three shots at her. He apologized for his actions.
Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond.
