A Jackson County judge late Thursday sentenced Daniel Wilson to 20 years in a state prison for the fatal shooting in May 2016 of Tyrone London, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Daniel Wilson, dob: 6/4/1991, was sentenced to 20 years on his Murder 2nd Degree conviction and 5 years on Armed Criminal Action conviction. The judge set those sentences to run concurrently.
Wilson pleaded guilty in December to those two charges in the midst of a trial on those and other counts.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded to the 4600 block of Willion on a reported shooting on May 20, 2016. They found the vicitm in the living room, deceased from gunshots. A witness told police the defendant arrived at the residence to pick up the mother of his baby and the baby for an appoitnment. He encountered the victim, boyfriend of the woman the defendant was picking up, sitting in the living room. He and the defendant had been feuding. The girlfriend tried to intervene but the defendant pushed her aside and fired shots at the victim.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Jeremy Baldwin, Kelly Collins and Brian Morris prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
