A 39-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man faces multiple felony charges in connection with the shooting of a woman and two men on Sept. 16, 2018, in a bar on Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Kitce L. Massey, dob: 2/4/1979, faces three counts of Assault 1st Degree and three counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records filed today, police found three shooting victims inside the club in the 400 block of Southwest Boulevard when they responded. The victims later identified the defendant as the person who shot them. He was inside and had words with some of the victims, went outside and came back in before he shot the three victims. The suspect left the crime scene but police tracked the vehicle to his wife. The defendant told police he began to drive away but came back with a handgun and fired at the victims because he felt disrespected and he wanted to protect himself and his wife.
Prosecutors have requested a $100,000 bond.
The case remains under investigation.
