Independence man charged with threatening Lee's Summit police officer with rifle, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Richard Connely, dob: 11/7/1987, faces Assault 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, Lee's Summit police were pursuing a Ford Focus when the driver slowed and pointed an AR rifle at officers who were pursuing after they were dispatched to 3 NW O'Brien in Lee's Summit on a prowler call. The driver later tossed the rifle from the vehicle. The pursuit eventually ended in Grandview, MO.
